説明
京都の元大学教授の旧蔵。一見したところ、ただ普通の鹿角彫と認識される方も多いだろう。彫りは決して巧妙とは言えないし、勿論間違いなく江戸初期庶民用の並物。しかし1970年代頃、これは日本でも入手困難な根付なのだ。近年（令和時代）市場に滅多に出ない珍品になってしまう。
良い根付は別に価格は高ければ高いほどではなく、このような特に文句無し、典型的な早期タイプを触ってみたら如何だろう。たっぷり丈夫な正真正銘の庶民物、驚しいなれこそ本場の人間息吹。所詮世の中では金持ちという者こそごく僅か、私たちが俗離れしていることはほぼ不可能だろう。

Very good photogenic composition.
The cow bows its head to the ground, and the boy plays on its back, which is very interesting. The composition is simple and elegant, the knife technique is sharp, the conception is unique, and the patina is bright and smooth. It is one of the masterpieces of the Kyoto School.
