説明

1970年に高田賢三がパリにブティック「ジャングル・ジャップ」をオープンしたことから、ケンゾー（KENZO）の歴史ははじまった。そして、1996年に、そのャングル」というウィメンズ・フレグランスが発売された。更にその2年後の1998年に発売されたのがこのメンズ・ヴァージョンだった。

ゼブラ（シマウマ）からインスパイアされたウッディ・シトラスな香りは、オリヴィエ・クレスプにより調香された。ボトルキャップのトップには、ゼブラの加られている。

高田 賢三（たかだ けんぞう、1939 -2020）は、日本のファッションデザイナー。ケンゾー創業者で、パリを拠点に活動した。会場を借りてショーを開催した初めてのデザイナーで、今日のパリコレの原型となった。

1993年、LVMH（モエ・ヘネシー・ルイ・ヴィトン) 傘下のブランドとなる。1999年にデザイナーから退くが、2002年頃に復帰し、2004年のアテネオリンピック式典・移動用ユニフォームのデザインを担当した。「混ぜるのが好き」という賢三の作風は、いくつかの異文化のオリジナリティを融合させたフォークロア調で、世界のブランド史、ファッション史で大きな位置を占める。

Kenzo Jungle L’Éléphant

Kenzo Jungle is a popular perfume by Kenzo for women and was released in 1996. The scent is spicy-oriental. Projection and longevity are above-average. It is being marketed by LVMH.

This is the strongest perfume in my collection and also the one with the greatest addictive factor. Extremely spicy but also warm and humid, like a jungle. On me the carnation comes out the most, liquorice is noticeable only after one hour. The cardamom clouds everything during the whole fragrance journey.

 

Kenzo Jungle Le Tigre

Jungle Le Tigre is a popular perfume by Kenzo for women and was released in 1997. The scent is spicy-woody. It was last marketed by LVMH.

After the funky opening, this is a beautiful amber scent. Not overwhelming sillage and longevity could be better. Wish I got more cinnamon.

 

Kenzo Jungle pour Homme

Jungle pour Homme (Eau de Toilette) is a popular perfume by Kenzo for men and was released in 1998. The scent is spicy-woody. It was last marketed by LVMH.

Kenzo Jungle Homme opens with a really peculiar, distinctive and to me totally pleasant accord composed by a sort of odd spicy-green-fruity blend, much aromatic and slightly milky, with sharp lime notes juxtaposed to a creamy, fruity, slightly synthetic feel of tropical fruits (banana, a bit of coconut too), enhanced by carnation and spices – notably nutmeg and cloves. Beyond this, a perfectly-blended note of sandalwood, which is quite sweet and creamy as well. Overall the name fits this scent perfectly, as it is quite an exotic and bizarre Oriental scent which surely conjures a “jungle” mood.
