描述
此件雕刻细致，布置精雅，典型京都派上佳之作。坐在“布袋”上开怀大笑的布袋，背着象征财富的“布袋”，露出圆滚滚毛茸茸的大肚子，憨态可掬。服饰为中国风格螺旋云纹，典型早期烟囱型大小穿绳孔。美妙的双色包浆，遍布全体的雀丝皆是18世纪中期以前根付的铁证。古老，但依然结实。
唐童（Karako）和日本儿童（kodomo）在服饰纹理方面有本质区别，最显而易见的还是发髻。唐童或无髻或两髻，而日本儿童则是武士发型的单髻“锅盖头”。幕府时代京都皇亲国戚不少，中国儿童不多，因此京都派佳作每每以唐童为题材，以示贵重。

This a Kyoto School Netsuke, carved in Early 18th centuries, that depicts a seated and laughing Hotei. His robe falling open to reveal a large hairy belly.
carrying a large bag of fortune over his shoulders while holding a fan with his right hand. The Karakos are with the God of Happiness, is on top of the bag right next to the deity’s head. The garments of Hotei and Karako are decorated with spiraling scrolls in the style of Chinese.
The robe with incised geometrical patterns. Faithful time-period chimney himotoshi. Wonderful two-tone patina; a shade darker on the back and bottom. It has some age hairlines, common to netsuke this old, it is solid and otherwise.
